Boise's rules are short. The airport sends buses to one curb, and we found no Idaho state certificate that a charter or party bus company must hold. So the checks that matter most here are the operator's USDOT number and its insurance.

Where does a bus pick up at BOI?

Boise Airport's ground-transportation page lists "Buses: Purple curb" (read 2026-09-26). That is a general bus designation, not a rule written for charters: the same page tells riders of scheduled lines such as Salt Lake Express and Greyhound that "Pick-up locations vary. Check your ticket for your route's specific location." The airport publishes no charter permit, fee or waiting limit.

For a group arriving at BOI, ask the operator to confirm it will meet you at the purple curb, and have the driver wait off the curb until your coordinator calls with everyone's bags collected.

Who licenses a bus operator in Idaho?

Less than in most states. The Idaho Public Utilities Commission lists its jurisdiction as electric, telecommunications, water, natural gas, rail safety and pipeline safety; it does not regulate bus or limousine companies, and we found no other Idaho certificate for charter or party bus operators (read 2026-09-26). Idaho is, however, on FMCSA's list of states that require a USDOT number from intrastate carriers.

What that means for you: in Boise, the USDOT number is the one public record an operator should have. Check it on FMCSA's SAFER Company Snapshot, and ask for a certificate of insurance that names the vehicle. How to check a charter bus company walks through both.

Party buses in Boise

The Wagon Boise sells party buses in an initial 2-hour block with added hours priced separately. Ask for the full total, named vehicle, and refund terms. The Boise party bus guide has the booking structure and Idaho's alcohol rule.

Boise questions

  • Can you arrange a trip into Oregon? Not yet. A trip that crosses a state line goes to a person, who can help you plan it but not book it through us.
  • Why check insurance separately here? Because we found no Idaho passenger certificate to do that screening for you, the operator's own insurance certificate is the document that tells you the vehicle is covered.
