How to check a charter bus company

Party bus by the hour, or a bus with a driver for a local trip, an airport run or an event, in ten US metros.

Price shown before you commit, confirmed before you pay.

Trip type

Estimate. We confirm the vehicle, the operator’s minimum hours and the exact price with you before you pay.

Identify the company that will actually operate the vehicle. Get its legal name and USDOT number, then check authority, insurance, and safety information in FMCSA records. A booking site, broker, or referral service can have a different name from the operating carrier. For California intrastate service, also check applicable CPUC charter-party authority.

Five-step check

Step Pass signal Stop or investigate
Get the operating carrier’s legal name and USDOT number Seller identifies the actual carrier before confirmation. Seller gives only a brand name or refuses.
Match the FMCSA record Legal name and identifiers match. Record belongs to another company or cannot be matched.
Check authority Required authority is active for the service. Authority is inactive, out of service, or unclear.
Check insurance Required filings appear active. Required insurance is missing or unclear.
Read safety information in context No unresolved status prevents operation. Out-of-service order or material mismatch appears.

FMCSA explains that search results need context. A sparse record is not proof of perfect safety, and a record is not a customer-review score. Recheck close to the trip because public records can change.
